    Intro After his hiring in 1970, legendary head coach Dick Haines built a football program at Vista High School that dominated most of San Diego County for two decades. “Big Red Football” had only three losing seasons up until 1988 during Haines' tenure. From 1980-86, the program was 67-18, and from 1984-86 Vista was 35-3 appearing in three straight CIF Championship Games.
