    With the ball at its own 20-yard line, Monte Vista High School’s Jahmon McClendon took his customary spot deep in the Monarch backfield. The junior running back surveyed the defense and readied himself for his first carry of the game. Taking the handoff, McClendon spotted a small hole to the right.
